The talks took place in London from 28 September to 2 October and covered services, goods, investment, digital trade, intellectual property, government procurement and trade remedies.

Both sides discussed their first tariff offers, alongside market access, regulatory equivalence and audit requirements for goods. The Government said it would maintain UK standards while seeking additional opportunities for exporters.

Text-based discussions continued on digital trade, domestic regulation and investment. Services are a central part of the negotiations because the existing UK-Turkey agreement is primarily focused on goods.

Total trade between the two countries reached £28.3 billion in 2025, an increase of 3.9 per cent on the previous year, according to the ministerial statement.

No agreement was concluded in this round. Both sides are expected to hold a seventh negotiating round in the coming months, and ministers have said any final deal must align with the UK's national interests.
