Gareth Thomas has asked ministers to give a timetable for the next environmental impact report on the UK’s membership of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership.

The Labour MP for Harrow West tabled the written question on 9 October. The Department for Business and Trade is due to answer on 13 October.
Thomas specifically asked about the biennial report expected in 2027, seeking clarity on when the Government intends to publish its assessment.
The question does not allege a particular environmental outcome. It tests whether ministers have a clear timetable for monitoring the effects of the trade agreement.
The answer should indicate when Parliament and the public can expect evidence on environmental impacts arising from the UK’s participation in the CPTPP.
