Labour MP Rosie Wrighting has secured confirmation that work is under way on a new maternity and neonatal facility at Kettering General Hospital.

She raised concerns about reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete, overheating and winter flooding affecting the current maternity environment.
Health Secretary Yvette Cooper told the Commons that work was under way on the new facility and that it would include a dedicated bereavement suite.
Wrighting highlighted fundraising by local families and campaigners who want better support for parents experiencing baby loss.
The exchange confirmed continuing project work, but it did not announce a new funding allocation or a final construction timetable.
Wrighting also secured a meeting with the Health Secretary to discuss the project. The next test will be whether the government converts the planning work into a funded programme with a clear delivery schedule.
