Michelle Welsh is scheduled to help open a House of Commons debate on baby loss on Monday 12 October, bringing bereavement and maternity services before MPs during Baby Loss Awareness Week.

The Labour MP for Sherwood Forest is listed alongside Andy MacNae and Sir Jeremy Hunt as an opening speaker. The debate's subject was selected by the Backbench Business Committee.
In proposing the discussion, Welsh argued that improving maternity services matters to every community and constituency. She sought an opportunity for MPs to address those concerns across party lines.
Baby Loss Awareness Week runs from 9 to 15 October. It provides a period of remembrance for families and raises public awareness of the different experiences of losing a baby.
More than 100 charities support the week, including Sands, Miscarriage UK and Antenatal Results and Choices. Monday's scheduled debate gives MPs a forum to discuss those experiences and the services surrounding them.
