Labour MP Stephen Kinnock joined Labour activists in Holborn and St Pancras on Sunday to campaign for Sagal Abdi-Wali ahead of Thursday’s parliamentary by-election.
Sharing a photograph with Abdi-Wali, Kinnock said a “huge number of activists” had taken part. He reported “so much positivity and support on the doorsteps” for Labour’s candidate.
Abdi-Wali, the leader of Camden Council, is standing for Labour in the seat previously held by Keir Starmer. Voters will choose their next MP on 8 October.
Kinnock’s visit adds to the support Abdi-Wali has received from Labour MPs and volunteers during the campaign’s final week. Labour is seeking to retain the constituency, with Green Party leader Zack Polanski among the candidates contesting the seat.
