Labour and Co-operative MP Stella Creasy has launched a community push to make solar power accessible to every household in Walthamstow, calling on residents to sign up through her office.
The MP released a short film featuring a local resident, Emily, sharing her story, as part of a campaign to show how neighbours working together can bring down the cost of going solar.

She said: "By working together as a community to make solar power accessible Walthamstow can help every resident save money and help save the planet too."
Introducing the film, she said: "Hope for a better world comes from how you make change happen as well as why."
Residents who want to take part are being asked to email her constituency office to register their interest.
Community energy
Collective purchasing and community energy schemes allow households to share the costs of surveying, buying and installing solar panels, often reducing prices compared with individual purchases. They can also help renters and people in flats, who often struggle to install their own panels, to benefit from cheaper, cleaner electricity.
The initiative comes as households face the prospect of higher energy bills this winter, with forecasts suggesting the price cap could rise in January, and as the government pushes ahead with its plans for clean power and warmer homes.
Local leadership
Stella Creasy has represented Walthamstow since 2010 and sits as a Labour and Co-operative MP. Her campaign reflects the Co-operative Party's long-standing support for community-owned energy, which allows the benefits of renewable generation to be kept within local neighbourhoods.
The MP said that by acting together, Walthamstow residents can show how local action on climate and the cost of living can go hand in hand.
