The plan brings together the council, NHS Cheshire and Merseyside Integrated Care Board and other local partners to improve services for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities.

Priorities include earlier support, more consistent access to high-quality services and a stronger local offer that helps children feel included in their communities.

Parents, carers, children, young people and professionals helped shape the plan. It builds on work including the creation of an Autism Advisory Team and SEND Improvement Team earlier this year.

Donnelly, Knowsley's cabinet member for children and young people, thanked those who contributed and said the three-year programme and funding would support practical, lasting improvements.
