Labour councillor Sandra Walmsley has officially opened a new wing at Millwood Primary School following completion of a £13 million specialist education project.

The expansion includes seven classrooms, a multi-use hall, sensory rooms and a rebound room, alongside outdoor play spaces and other supporting facilities. Repairs have also been made to the existing building and roof.
The work increases the school's overall capacity to more than 200 primary-aged pupils with additional educational needs and disabilities.
Bury Council says the expansion responds to growing demand for specialist school places and will allow more children to have their needs met within the borough.
Walmsley, the council's cabinet member for children and young people, said the facilities would improve access to specialist learning environments for children aged five to 11. The project was funded through Department for Education capital allocations.
