Grahame Morris has asked ministers whether funding for health services in criminal justice settings is protected and whether proposed NHS reorganisation could change that position.

The Labour MP for Easington tabled the named-day written question on 9 October. The health department is due to answer by 14 October.
The question covers healthcare delivered in prisons and other criminal justice settings, where commissioning arrangements could be affected by wider structural reform.
Morris has not claimed that funding has already been reduced. He is seeking confirmation of the current protection and an assessment of the possible consequences of reorganisation.
The answer will give Parliament an early indication of whether specialist services in the criminal justice system will retain dedicated funding as health structures change.
