The Merseyside Labour police and crime commissioner joined neighbourhood officers and local partners for the opening on 9 October.

The facility replaces the former Millersdale Community Police Station. It provides office space and a local base for neighbourhood officers and staff within Community Hub South.

The hub already brings together council services, housing support, library provision and community organisations. It originally launched in April 2025.

Spurrell said locating officers alongside those services would strengthen relationships with residents and help agencies work together on local concerns.

The police base will support community engagement, partnership meetings and planned operations. It will not operate as a traditional police front counter.
