Earlestown Town Hall restoration reaches practical completion

The Grade II listed building's restoration forms part of a wider town-centre regeneration programme.

Restoration work at Earlestown Town Hall has reached practical completion, more than 130 years after the Grade II listed building was built. St Helens Borough Council said main contractor HH Smith & Sons completed the major renovation, which included restoring the town hall’s clock and bells.

The project is part of a regeneration programme backed by £20 million from the Government’s Levelling Up Fund and £8 million in council match funding. A further £1.1 million is being used for heating and lighting upgrades.
