Today, however, our social fabric faces a profound and dangerous test. Across the country, we are witnessing the alarming ascendance of populist posturing and the divisive rhetoric of the political right, epitomised by Reform UK.
If we are to safeguard the multi-ethnic, tolerant, and forward-looking society we cherish, progressives and moderates must wake up to the gravity of this moment. In my view, the path forward requires a distinct brand of leadership—one rooted in authenticity, deep public service, and an unshakeable commitment to our communities. That is precisely why getting behind Andy Burnham and his vision is the only viable way to defeat the politics of division and secure a brighter future for our children.
The Anatomy of Division and the Threat of Populism
The rise of the right is not happening in a vacuum.
