Why We Launched Labour Home

When Labour won the general election earlier this year, the result was nothing short of historic. Constituency after constituency turned red, communities across the country put their trust in Labour, and millions of people sent a clear message: after 14 years of decline, division and mismanagement under the Conservatives, it was time for change.

That victory belongs to every campaigner who knocked on doors, every member who delivered leaflets in the rain, every activist who argued Labour’s case in their community. It was a triumph for the movement — but it was also just the beginning. Governing is tougher than opposing

It was always going to be the case that government would be harder than opposition. In opposition, we had the luxury of pointing out what was wrong; in government, we have the responsibility of fixing it. After more than a decade of Tory chaos, that means tough decisions, long hours and an uphill climb to rebuild the country.

The challenges are real. Whether it’s repairing the NHS, rebuilding trust in policing, putting the economy back on stable footing or confronting global crises, this government is dealing daily with the wreckage left behind. But these difficulties do not diminish Labour’s achievements so far — they make them more important. Why Labour Home matters

That’s why we launched Labour Home. Our mission is simple: to be the place where Labour members, supporters and activists can come together to follow the progress of our government, celebrate what we are delivering, debate where we go next, and organise for the future.

We need to do three things:

1.

Inspire members and supporters to get more actively involved in campaigns — online, on the doorstep, and in their workplaces and communities. 2.

Proudly defend our record in government, making sure people know how Labour is making a difference in their everyday lives. 3.

Acknowledge the challenges honestly, because credibility comes not from pretending everything is easy, but from showing we have the grit and determination to overcome difficulties.

A movement, not just a government

Labour Home will be a space to amplify our successes, explain our policies in plain language, and give activists the tools to take Labour’s message into every town, city and village. We’ll host debate, highlight local campaigns, and share the stories of ordinary Labour people making a difference.

We’ve won an election — but to win the future, we need more than a government. We need a movement that is organised, inspired and proud of what it is achieving.

That’s what Labour Home is here to build.
