"We are pleased that a modified protocol for the PATHWAYS clinical trial has been agreed by the MHRA and trial sponsor, and that the HRA have approved the trial for its ethical standards.
"All LGBTQ+ people, including young people, must have equal access to high-quality, evidence-based and timely healthcare that protects and supports their wellbeing and safety.
"There are many young people and their families who have been left in limbo since 2024, causing significant emotional and physical distress, and leaving them with little hope for a future where they are understood and accepted. No-one wants to see that distress further prolonged."
