Liverpool City Region Mayor Steve Rotheram has hailed a “massive win” after UKREiiF, the UK’s largest real estate, investment and infrastructure forum, confirmed it will move to Liverpool Experience Campus from 2028.
Since launching in Leeds in 2022, UKREiiF has grown to more than 17,000 delegates a year and has helped facilitate more than £4 billion of investment discussions and regeneration opportunities. Its sixth and final Leeds edition will take place at the Royal Armouries in May 2027.
The winning bid was put together by Liverpool Experience Campus, the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, Liverpool City Council and Liverpool BID Company.
Rotheram: ‘A real vote of confidence’
“This is a massive win for the Liverpool City Region and a real vote of confidence in everything we’ve been building together,” Rotheram said. “That means thousands of investors, developers and decision-makers coming here and seeing first-hand the ambition, talent and opportunities right across our city region.”
He thanked Leeds and West Yorkshire for building the event into what it is today, and said the region would work hard to take it to the next level.
Learning from Labour conference
Rotheram pointed to the way Liverpool has hosted Labour Party Conference as a model. “If we get that right, UKREiiF won’t just be hosted in Liverpool – it will become part of Liverpool,” he said.
Liverpool City Council leader Liam Robinson said the move would help deliver “growth in every postcode” and mobilise billions in private investment, with delegates able to see the city region’s opportunities first-hand.
The waterfront campus combines conference, exhibition and arena space with outdoor event areas, giving organisers room to keep expanding as the forum enters its next chapter.
