Steve Race has said he will meet Ofcom with parliamentary colleagues later this month to press for further action over Royal Mail’s service levels.

The Labour MP confirmed the planned meeting in a public statement on 9 October, as he highlighted continuing concerns about deliveries in Exeter.
Race said he had already raised the issue in Parliament and discussed it with Royal Mail, but residents were reporting that the service was not improving.
He highlighted complaints that important correspondence, including hospital appointment letters, was arriving late. The reported delays are residents’ experiences rather than a measure of every delivery in the city.
Royal Mail said it recognised the importance of receiving post when expected and was continuing changes intended to provide a more reliable service.
Race plans to ask the regulator what further measures it will take. The meeting has yet to happen, and his statement did not announce a new enforcement decision or a resolved service problem.
