The union says 30 members are taking industrial action until Friday after months of seeking a resolution. It alleges that staff have faced pressure over settlement terms and threats of disciplinary action connected to the strike. Those are Unite’s allegations in an active workplace dispute.

Graham said the union would support members defending their jobs and urged Oxford University Press to enter meaningful negotiations.

The workers held a demonstration outside the publisher’s Oxford headquarters on Wednesday. Unite says they want the offshoring proposal reconsidered and a settlement reached through talks.

The dispute places the future of skilled UK jobs at the centre of Graham’s latest intervention, as Unite continues its campaign against employers moving work overseas.
