Sarah Edwards has asked the Home Office for its plans and timetable to close the remaining asylum hotels in Staffordshire.

The Labour MP for Tamworth tabled the named-day written question on 9 October. A ministerial answer is due by 14 October.
Her question asks both about the policy for ending hotel use and the timing of closures in the county. It does not state that a closure date has already been agreed.
The Home Office response will need to distinguish national intentions from confirmed local decisions and set out whether Staffordshire hotels are covered by a published timetable.
Edwards’ intervention creates a clear point for parliamentary scrutiny of delivery, costs and the effect on local communities, while ministers consider longer-term asylum accommodation.
