Developers and investors were invited to submit expressions of interest from 8 October for commercial, mixed-use and large-scale residential schemes.

Around £545m from the fund is currently allocated to those types of project, alongside support available through the wider West Midlands Investment Partnership.

Offices, hotels and employment space

The call seeks a pipeline of proposals including offices, hotels and employment space, with investment intended to unlock development and support regional growth.

The Futures Fund was launched in May with an initial £3.8bn. This is a new invitation for projects, not the launch of another £3.8bn fund or approval for every scheme submitted.

The process builds on an existing £300m revolving fund delivered by the combined authority, widening opportunities for public and private investment to work together.
