Labour MP Rebecca Long-Bailey has co-led a newly reported letter calling on Prime Minister Andy Burnham to set out compensation plans for women affected by failures in communicating changes to the state pension age.

MPs from ten parties have backed the intervention, asking for compensation as soon as possible.
The WASPI campaign concerns women born in the 1950s who say inadequate notice of pension-age changes disrupted their retirement plans.
Long-Bailey, who chairs the All-Party Parliamentary Group on State Pension Inequality for Women, said campaigners had waited too long for justice. She welcomed Burnham's commitment to meet them and hoped it would begin a route towards redress.
The Department for Work and Pensions said it had accepted maladministration and apologised to affected women. Its stated focus remains an action plan to improve communication about state pensions.
