Yasmin Qureshi has been confirmed as a participant in a national discussion on English teaching for speakers of other languages, following the announcement of a festival programme on Monday.

The Labour MP for Bolton South and Walkden will take part in the ESOL panel at Hyphen Festival in Westminster on 4 November. The session will examine the importance of English-language provision to Britain's economy and society.
She will be joined by British Future director Sunder Katwala and Adela Belecova, a teacher and organiser who leads strategy and campaigning at English for Action.
The discussion will draw on the experiences of teachers and learners. It brings parliamentary, education and integration perspectives together around the provision of language learning.
The festival celebrates Muslim contributions to British public life and culture. Its programme also includes discussions on Prevent and the arts, with a livestream available for audiences following the event remotely.
