Pride in Place Expands to 40 More Neighbourhoods, Putting Communities in Control

Labour is expanding its Pride in Place programme to 40 more neighbourhoods across England, giving local people a direct say over how millions of pounds are invested in their communities.

Each neighbourhood will be able to decide how funding is spent – from reviving high streets to protecting community spaces – with up to £20 million available per area. The expansion builds on the success of the wider £5 billion Pride in Place programme, which has already delivered visible improvements across the country.

Communities are already seeing the benefits. In Ramsgate, funding secured the freehold of the town’s last remaining youth centre, protecting it for future generations. In Elgin, investment has been set aside for a new regional athletics hub, bringing sports clubs together under one roof.

By trusting communities and backing local leadership, Labour’s Pride in Place programme is restoring civic pride and delivering lasting change where it matters most.
