Neil Duncan-Jordan has asked the Treasury to set out its action against people and firms in financial and legal services that enable illicit finance.

The Labour MP for Poole tabled the written parliamentary question on 9 October. A Treasury answer is due on 13 October.
His question focuses on the professional infrastructure that can allow criminal or corrupt funds to move through legitimate markets, rather than only on the people who own the money.
The wording asks for steps being taken, so it does not establish that a new policy or enforcement programme has been agreed. The Government’s response will determine whether further measures are planned.
The intervention opens a fresh line of scrutiny on how financial regulation, legal services and enforcement agencies deal with those who facilitate suspicious transactions.
