The Labour MP for Crewe and Nantwich said the initiative would help residents speak collectively in their dealings with Residential Management Group, known as RMG.

In his weekend update, Naismith said residents were taking the lead and that he looked forward to supporting them. The proposed committee is intended to give the estate a stronger voice.

He also pointed to the example of Stoneley Park, where residents established a committee last year. That experience provides a local model for organising around shared estate concerns.

The Wistaston initiative is at an early stage. Naismith's support is for residents developing their own representation, with the committee's formation and future work still to be taken forward.
