Sarah Jones, the Minister for Industry, has confirmed that the Labour government will launch a dedicated strategy exclusively for small businesses, signalling a new focus on the engine room of the British economy.
Speaking at a recent event, the Minister for Industry and MP for Croydon West outlined the government's forthcoming plans to support enterprise, placing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) at the very heart of its economic agenda.
"We know that SMEs are the backbone of our economy," Jones stated. "My job is to help put together the industrial strategy which we are launching in the next few weeks, and of course, SMEs are a crucial part of that picture."
