  • Local Government Committees (LGCs): An LGC exists for every primary council area (e.g., borough, district, or unitary authority). These committees, which recently replaced the former Local Campaign Forums (LCFs), play a crucial role in the run-up to local elections. Their responsibilities include overseeing the selection process for council candidates, developing the local manifesto, and organising the election campaign. The LGC is composed of representatives from the local Labour councillor group, Constituency Labour Parties (CLPs), and affiliated trade unions.
