Labour delivers £400 cost-of-living boost for disabled adults

The Labour government is delivering targeted cost-of-living support to disabled adults, with over 150,000 people set to receive at least £400 more annually through a 7% increase in the minimum income guarantee for working-age social care recipients from April 2026 — the largest above-inflation rise in over a decade.

In addition, £723 million has been confirmed for the Disabled Facilities Grant, enabling older and disabled people to adapt their homes and live independently. The measures underline Labour’s commitment to fairness and practical support for those facing the greatest pressures.
