Labour Councillors

Labour has a powerful presence in local government across Great Britain, with approximately 6,083 councillors working to represent and serve their communities. Following the 2024 local elections, Labour controls 107 councils in England, making it the largest party in local government for the first time since 2002.

Labour councillors are at the heart of their communities, acting as a voice for residents and working to improve local services like housing, education, and environmental standards. The Association of Labour Councillors (ALC) is the affiliated organisation that represents and supports Labour councillors in England, Wales, and Scotland.
