Labour backs major Welsh rail investment to create jobs and boost growth

Labour has reinforced its commitment to regional growth by backing a major rail modernisation programme led by Transport for Wales, supporting around 12,000 jobs and improving connectivity across Wales.

Nearly £500 million from the Spending Review will fund seven new stations — Magor and Undy, Llanwern, Cardiff East, Newport West, Somerton, Cardiff Parkway, and Deeside Industrial Park — boosting local economies, strengthening infrastructure, and delivering opportunity across the UK.
