Energy Secretary Ed Miliband has unveiled the next stage of Labour’s mission to make Britain a clean energy superpower.
Great British Energy, the publicly owned energy company, will expand its scheme to help cut bills for250 more schools and 270 NHS sitesby installing solar panels and clean energy systems.
Already, around 200 schools and 200 NHS sites – including a third of NHS trusts – have benefited. The expansion will save millions for frontline services while cutting carbon emissions.
Miliband said:“Great British Energy is delivering cheaper bills, stronger public services, and a greener future – owned by the British people, for the British people.”
