Matt Kelcher is backing a proposed contract award to Ballymore for the remaining South Kilburn regeneration programme, with Brent cabinet scheduled to consider the recommendation on Monday.

The Labour cabinet member for regeneration and planning endorses the proposal after officers completed their evaluation of three shortlisted bidders. Ballymore emerged as the preferred bidder.
The proposed partnership would coordinate the remaining programme through a single delivery partner. Its priorities include affordable housing, consistent neighbourhood management and maintenance, community participation and social infrastructure.
The existing programme has delivered, or has under construction, 1,954 homes, including 1,239 for social rent. The next phase follows concerns about variable management standards, build quality on some developments and delays affecting residents.
Any award remains subject to satisfactory finalisation of contract terms and completion of the preferred bidder stage. Monday's proposal therefore marks a procurement decision point, with further legal and commercial work required before the partnership can be secured.
