The borough’s Young Inspectors examined services and interviewed people involved with the hubs. Their reports described both settings as welcoming and non-judgemental places where families can obtain support, advice and guidance.

The hubs bring services together for families from pregnancy through to adulthood, including provision for young people with special educational needs and disabilities up to the age of 25.

Inspectors also highlighted Shadsworth’s nursery as a SEND hub, with specialist staff, additional equipment and help for families navigating support pathways.

Gunn, Labour executive member for children, young people and education, said the inspections provided an independent view of the hubs’ value and thanked the young inspectors and staff involved.
