Labour Mayor Ros Jones is overseeing a Doncaster cabinet agenda covering support for care leavers, dementia services and a refreshed plan to get more people walking, cycling and moving.
The cabinet meeting, chaired by Jones on Wednesday, is considering a new Corporate Parenting and Care Leavers Strategy, an updated Get Doncaster Moving Strategy and a new Dementia Strategy.
Better outcomes for young people in care
The corporate parenting work is focused on improving support and outcomes for children in care and young people leaving the care system.
Moving more, and dementia support
The refreshed Get Doncaster Moving programme aims to encourage greater physical activity and make it easier for residents to build walking, cycling and other movement into everyday life. Cabinet is also considering a new strategy for supporting people living with dementia and their families.
Jones has served as Doncaster’s directly elected mayor since 2013 and was re-elected for a fourth term in 2025.
