John Healey is backing the Rotherham Families First Christmas Toy Appeal and will help launch this year’s campaign at Parkgate Shopping Centre on 6 November, after last year’s appeal provided presents for 2,051 children.

The Rawmarsh and Conisbrough MP is encouraging residents to donate new toys and gifts for children whose families face poverty, hardship or crisis.
More than £41,000 of gifts last year
Healey reported that the 2025 appeal provided presents for 2,051 children, distributing more than £41,000 worth of new toys and gifts.
The appeal works with schools, social services and local charities to identify children who need support and ensure donations reach them.
Rotherham Families First is a volunteer-led charity which also redistributes essentials throughout the year, including clothing, baby equipment and household items. Professionals refer families anonymously to protect their dignity.
Healey said he was proud to support the appeal each year. His renewed backing comes as volunteers prepare for another Christmas campaign aimed at ensuring children do not miss out on a present.
