Labour MP Ian Byrne has welcomed plans for 112 new social homes in Page Moss, after meeting developer Breck Homes about the next phase of regeneration in his Liverpool West Derby constituency.

The homes will be built as part of Phase 5 of the Page Moss development. The MP said he had pushed hard for the phase to deliver social housing since the area became part of his constituency at the 2024 general election.
Ian Byrne: 'Desperately needed'
Describing the meeting as "extremely positive", he said the 112 homes were "desperately needed".
He said: "Since Page Moss became part of Liverpool West Derby in 2024, I have pushed hard for Phase 5 to deliver the social housing our community desperately needs. I was delighted yesterday to see that work beginning to come to fruition."
He added that the discussions also covered creating jobs and opportunities for local people.
'A genuine blueprint'
The MP argued that the scheme could show how the government's ambitions on housing can be delivered on the ground.
"If we get this right, this development could become a genuine blueprint for the Government's vision of rebuilding our council and social housing stock delivering high quality homes and good local jobs for our communities," he said.
Housing need in Liverpool
Page Moss has been the focus of a multi-phase regeneration programme, and the new homes are part of the fifth phase. The government has made building more social and affordable homes a central part of its housing plans.
Ian Byrne, who has represented West Derby since 2019, is also known for leading the parliamentary campaign for a legal Right to Food. He has said he will continue to press for the development to deliver both homes and local employment.
