Feryal Clark challenges ministers over concentrations of HMOs

The Labour MP for Enfield North tabled the written question on 9 October. A response from the housing department is due on 13 October.

Clark’s question concerns Schedule 1 of the Town and Country Planning regulations introduced this year and the effects that clusters of HMOs may have in particular areas.

The question seeks an assessment rather than announcing a policy change. Ministers have not yet set out their answer or indicated whether further action will follow.

The response will be relevant to councils balancing housing supply with pressure on local services, property management and neighbourhood conditions in areas where HMOs are concentrated.
