Labour MP Ellie Reeves has paid tribute to Labour staff and fellow party members after announcing that she had attended her final meeting of Labour’s National Executive Committee.

In a post published on 2 October, the Labour MP for Lewisham West and East Dulwich reflected positively on her experience, highlighting her involvement in organising the party’s 2024 general election campaign and chairing its National Policy Forum.
Reeves: ‘My experience has been brilliant’
“My experience has been brilliant, from helping organise our 2024 General Election to chairing the NPF,” Reeves wrote.
She added: “Thank you to all the [Labour] staff and other members I’ve worked with over the years.”

The NEC and the National Policy Forum
The NEC is Labour’s governing body, overseeing the party’s overall direction and policymaking process. Its work provides an organisational foundation for Labour’s campaigning and political priorities.
Reeves’s reflection also highlighted the National Policy Forum, which brings together members, trade unions, affiliates and elected representatives to help shape Labour’s policy programme.
In her published 2025 conference speech, Reeves described the forum as a link between Labour in government and its wider movement, explaining how members’ ideas and experience contribute to the party’s programme.
Her farewell message focused on that collective effort, thanking the staff and members she had worked alongside through Labour’s campaigning and policy development.
