The meeting brought together national Jewish organisations and representatives from the United Kingdom, United States, France, Germany, Argentina, Australia and Canada.

Participants discussed sharing effective approaches, strengthening international coordination and improving protection for Jewish communities.

The United Kingdom also agreed to host a future J7 meeting at ministerial level, extending the work beyond the community-representative taskforce.

The meeting followed the J7's latest annual report, which said 2025 was the deadliest year for Jewish people outside Israel since 1994. It also recorded an increase in antisemitic incidents in the United Kingdom.

Miliband said rising incidents across several countries required a coordinated international response and that Jewish communities must be able to live safely and freely.

The United Kingdom is currently chairing the J7 through the Board of Deputies of British Jews. The next test will be whether the ministerial meeting produces common measures that can be assessed across the participating countries.
