David Taylor questions impact of Hertfordshire Senior SaverCard withdrawal

The Labour MP for Hemel Hempstead tabled the written question on 9 October. A ministerial answer is due on 13 October.

Taylor also asked what role local or regional concessionary-fare schemes can play in encouraging bus use among people aged between 60 and state pension age.

The question does not say that national ministers can reverse the county council’s decision. It seeks evidence about its likely effect and the wider value of locally funded concessions.

The response will show whether the department has assessed the policy change and whether ministers see a continuing place for age-based schemes below the statutory pension-age entitlement.
