The latest figures from UK authorities show a significant reduction in small boat crossings across the English Channel over the past week — marking several consecutive days with no recorded arrivals.

Between 11 and 17 October 2025, only 306 migrants arrived across five boats, with no uncontrolled landings reported throughout the period.

Remarkably, from 14 to 17 October, there were zero crossings recorded, underscoring the growing effectiveness of joint UK–French operational measures and enhanced coastal monitoring.

Officials say the sustained collaboration and improved weather forecasting have helped reduce dangerous crossings and prevented potential loss of life at sea.

A Home Office spokesperson welcomed the figures, noting that “the recent decline reflects progress in tackling the criminal networks behind these dangerous journeys, while continuing to prioritize humanitarian safety and legal migration routes.”

The data will feed into the next quarterly Immigration System Statistics release, providing a fuller picture of the ongoing improvements in managing and reducing irregular Channel crossings
