Campaign focus: cost of living, NHS and community renewal

Labour’s campaign for the 2026 elections will centre on tackling the cost of living, rebuilding the NHS and investing in local communities.

Party messaging highlights recent policy changes including increases to the National Living Wage, expanded workers’ rights such as day-one statutory sick pay, and measures aimed at reducing child poverty, including lifting the two-child benefit cap.

The campaign will also emphasise housing security, with plans to end “no fault” evictions, and local investment through the Pride in Place programme.
