Labour MP Apsana Begum has led a cross-party parliamentary delegation to Bangladesh, where MPs heard testimony from Rohingya refugees in Cox's Bazar, the largest refugee settlement in the world.

Apsana Begum, the MP for Poplar and Limehouse and chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Bangladesh, said the delegation had borne witness to the conditions and experiences of 1.2 million Rohingya as humanitarian conditions in the camps continue to deteriorate.
"The Rohingya people are calling out for international support and protection," she said.
Maternal and emergency care
Working alongside UNHCR, the delegation visited a primary health care centre supported by UNFPA and UNHCR to understand how more than 9,000 Rohingya refugees receive maternal and emergency care. UNFPA Bangladesh thanked the MPs for their engagement and continued support.
Talks in Dhaka
In Dhaka, the delegation held what Apsana Begum described as frank and full conversations with government officials and ministers on issues ranging from women's rights to parliamentary democracy. The programme also included site visits and roundtable discussions with civil society.
She thanked the President of Bangladesh, parliamentary authorities and government officials for their reception.
