Prime Minister Andy Burnham has announced a £45 million package of surface-to-air missiles for Ukraine during President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's visit to Downing Street.

The Government will accelerate £10 million of the package to meet urgent winter requirements. The weapons include British Lightweight Multirole Missiles designed to counter fast jet-powered drones.
The UK had already committed £1.6 billion to supply more than 5,000 of the missiles over four years. The new announcement concerns additional support and faster delivery rather than a restatement of that earlier commitment.
Burnham has also asked ministers to prepare further sanctions, military-support and fiscal packages in the coming weeks. The Government said it would continue implementing a maritime-services ban on Russian liquefied natural gas exports.
The Prime Minister used the meeting to press for greater international pressure on Russia and renewed support for an energy ceasefire. Chancellor John Healey is raising the proposed LNG restrictions with partners at International Monetary Fund meetings.
The military package is a substantial new element beyond the Government's earlier call for a halt to attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure.
