Alice Macdonald has welcomed the appointment of resident-led bodies that will shape up to £40 million of long-term investment in two Norwich neighbourhoods.

The Labour and Co-operative MP for Norwich North said the Heartsease and Pilling Park board would put local people at the centre of decisions about the area's priorities.
A separate committee has been appointed for West Earlham and Bowthorpe. Members were selected after open recruitment from backgrounds including housing, health, education, youth services, business and the voluntary sector.
Each neighbourhood is eligible for up to £20 million over ten years through the Government-funded Pride in Place programme.
The new bodies will develop long-term plans and identify community priorities before money is committed to individual projects. The appointments are therefore a governance milestone rather than a new funding allocation.
Macdonald said she had helped secure the investment and would work with the Heartsease and Pilling Park board as it moves towards delivery.
