Wales Office minister and Cardiff North MP Anna McMorrin has praised the talent and dedication of young engineers after attending the annual apprentice graduation at GE Aerospace in Nantgarw.
The facility, just outside Cardiff, is one of the largest aircraft engine overhaul sites in the world and a major hub for high-skilled manufacturing and engineering jobs in South Wales.
Sharing her praise for the graduates and the team behind the long-standing apprenticeship programme, McMorrin said:

GE Aerospace’s Nantgarw facility has operated an award-winning apprenticeship scheme for decades, training hundreds of aircraft engineers who go on to support major global aviation fleets.
The scheme provides hands-on technical training alongside academic qualifications, ensuring a continuous pipeline of highly skilled engineers for the Welsh aerospace sector.
Labour ministers have highlighted that high-quality apprenticeships like the Nantgarw programme play a vital role in driving regional economic growth, expanding technical education opportunities, and giving local young people a route into well-paid, long-term careers.
