Strong Start for Labour in Gorton and Denton By-Election as Activists Hit the Doorsteps
Labour has made a flying start in the Gorton and Denton by-election, with hundreds of activists out campaigning across the constituency over the past few days.
Senior Labour figures have joined local campaigners on the doorstep, speaking to residents about the issues that matter most locally – from supporting families with the cost of living to investing in neighbourhoods and public services.
Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson and Environment Secretary Steve Reed visited the area to talk about Labour’s plans for free breakfast clubs and Pride in Place funding, setting out how Labour will ensure every child gets the best possible start to the school day while empowering communities to improve their local area.
Elsewhere, Lucy Powell and Connor Rand were out canvassing in Burnage alongside activists, listening to voters and making the case for change under a Labour government.
With strong momentum, high levels of activist turnout and clear enthusiasm on the ground, Labour’s campaign in Gorton and Denton is off to a powerful start.
