Richard Baker MP endorses Labour Home as crucial new voice for Labour movement

London, 24 November 2025 — Richard Baker MP joined the launch reception for Labour Home held today in the Wellington-style Jubilee Room at the UK Parliament, welcoming the platform as a “vital new voice” for the Labour movement ahead of next year’s elections.

Addressing the assembled MPs, councillors, activists and supporters, Baker said Labour Home represents an opportunity for Labour’s values and policies to be clearly communicated across the United Kingdom — uniting grassroots members, regional voices and national figures. He argued that in a media landscape where traditional outlets often overlook local issues, Labour Home will provide the fair, balanced channel the party needs.

“As a Scottish MP, I think it’s vital to have a new voice,” he said. “Labour Home is a really important initiative. We have important elections in Scotland next May — it’s absolutely crucial. We need a forum and effective media platform for Labour messages, Labour values, and discussion of Labour policy.”

Baker emphasised that the platform’s mission — to ensure clear, accessible communication of Labour’s policy agenda — is especially important at a time when the country faces pressing social and economic challenges. He added that Labour Home could help bridge the gap between traditional broadcast or print media and the lived experiences of communities across the UK, enabling a stronger connection between MPs and citizens.

The reception in the Jubilee Room marked the official launch of Labour Home, a new multimedia hub aiming to bring together politicians, activists, community leaders, and ordinary supporters to share news, commentary, and grassroots stories. The platform intends to produce written articles, multimedia content, and enable open discussion on policy and issues affecting the Labour movement and the wider public.
