A strong foundation in the capital
Despite mid-term polling fluctuations typical of a governing party, Labour remains first in the capital with a wide lead over a fragmented opposition split between Reform, the Conservatives, the Greens, the Liberal Democrats and others.
Academic analysis accompanying the survey highlights that while opposition parties are competing fiercely for minority vote shares, Labour’s broad-based appeal across inner and outer London still provides a durable electoral foundation ahead of future campaigns.
Mobilising the grassroots
Party campaigners view the results as an opportunity to rally local members, reinforce core policy messages, and focus on delivering key regional priorities — including affordable housing, public transport investment, and neighbourhood safety — to ensure Labour continues to earn the trust of Londoners across every borough.
