To celebrate the one-year anniversary of the of the disposable vapes ban, Chair of the Responsible Vaping APPG, Euan Stainbank MP, has released the below statement on behalf of the APPG. Please feel free to include the statement in any coverage of the one-year anniversary, and if you have any questions, please feel free to write or call me on the details below.
Chair of the Responsible Vaping APPG, Euan Stainbank MP, welcomes the first anniversary of the disposable vapes ban:
“The disposable vapes ban has been a success in environmental terms, avoiding needless waste and reducing the number of vape batteries on the market.
“The data shows that users have moved to using refillable pods, and environmental waste has declined in line with the independent vape industry’s ambitions.
“Independent and responsible vape retailers are leading the way in providing ways to dispose of vape batteries in safe and sustainable ways, encouraging their customers to do the responsible thing.
“The ban can only go so far, however, in tackling illegal sales. The Responsible Vaping APPG has consistently called for more funding for Trading Standards officers who are doing a great job in tackling the criminals marketing in illegal vapes, tobacco, and alcohol. The APPG also recognises the work the independent vape industry is doing to support the crackdown against unscrupulous traders.”
